My View: Once again I realize that I just finished reading the third book in the series without having read the first two. *sigh* It never ends (my ignorance).
Anyway it does clarify that this books stands great as a standalone because not for a single moment I felt there was something missing. So if you (like me) pick up this book, you’ll not be in the dark.
The book has an innovative plot. It is fast-paced. I especially loved the details in the book (the animal rearing, the vet details and the baking). The details helped me ‘be there’ which was kind of amazing. I loved the innovative careers of the main characters, it was very refreshing.
The genre ranged from thriller to romance to drama. I also liked the way the incidents in the book made me feel – the time spent with the children and the animals just shines through.
Overall, the book makes for a good read.
