My views: Firstly, I love the cover!!! OK, moving on…
This book messed with my head. Seriously! I loved the cover and dived in. I think the book is better suited for a movie unless you have a very creative imagination. I do have a creative imagination but still, it’s easier when it is on the screen than in your brain. The book interested me from the very first line which is a very good thing. It is a sort of page turner, almost. You want to know what happened, what will happen. And you read on.
Good things
- Creative concept, well dealt with.
- Nicely etched characters.
- The pace of the plot was just right.
- Good understanding and utilization of psychological knowledge and well defined.
And well, there is just this mystique quality to the book that I loved.
Not so good
Why does a fallen-in-the-gutter girl (excuse my language) always strike the handsome, rich and caring guy’s fantasy? Does that ever happen in real life? I mean EVER, seriously! Ridiculous!
Some things I believe are not clear in the book, or may be they aren’t to me. They don’t resolve fully and I am kept wondering. I know some authors like to keep the writers wondering but things just didn’t add up here. (I’m not talking about the Sequel, I know some things will resolve in the next book but I’m talking about things that were explained in this one and aren’t clear and I don’t think they will be mentioned in the next.)
The second half of the book didn’t work out too well for me.
Should you read it? Umm, I am not so sure, may be, give it a try. I liked it for a one-time read.
3.5/5 stars – somewhere between I liked it and I REALLY liked it.
