Book of the month:

February was a little slow month as I had exams. Let’s see what March has in store.

How was your February? Did an extra day made any difference? 😉

  1. Kimberly, I worship you. Do you get paid to read books? How do you do it???

I read 9 in February, for only 2664 pages. That’s not great for me, but there were a few reasons it got slow. I took a trip with my 4 year old to take care of a very ill friend. That wasn’t ideal reading time, but I did actually get some stuff read. The other major problem was a book that had me stalled. I should have just read other stuff, instead, but was being stubborn. I did finally get myself going by rewarding myself for reading the one book bu allowing myself to read one I liked better. In the end I was glad I finished the slow one, but not very glad. (Cognitive dissonance researchers would say I’m just justifying having wasted the time by saying it was worth reading…)

    1. Beth, even I am amazed at how Kimberly does it. Kimberly, spill the beans, will you?

I have been following your blog closely, Beth and you managed to read 9 with all that is amazing.

Ha ha about the Cognitive Dissonance thing. So true. Are you sure that wasn’t what happened really? LOL! 😀

  2. At least you were able to finish some!
Too bad for the others though, but apparently exams are more important than reading (or so I’m told).
Last month was a blah month for me reading wise I read a lot of really good ones but I really wanted to read more (I only read 17 books not the original 25 that I had planned). Hopefully this month will be much better!

  3. So were any of the books you didn’t finish books that you stopped reading because of loss of interest or were you just not able to finish this month? There are several of them that I’ve been wanting to read so I’m curious.

Exams… blah! I’m glad I’m past those years. Hope yours went well though!

    1. Candice, I undergo phases where I keep starting books but abandon them midway to start a new one. However, I return back to them and finish them. So, the books I mentioned I couldn’t finish this month, now go on to my reading list in March, which is when I will finish reading them (hopefully) unless I end up starting even more books. LOL. 😉

Ah, exams, I just don’t want to talk about them. So glad you are past those years!

  4. So, how was it you weren’t able to finish “Letters in Cardboard Boxes”? Just curious – when I was reading the book, I didn’t much care for it, but when I analyzed the situation I realized it was because it made me uncomfortable. Once I realized that, and thought about how good the writing was, I ended up finishing it and quite liking it overall. I hope you’ll give it another try.

Sounds like a busy month for you, eh? I couldn’t tell you how many I read this month – I keep running count of the total for the year via Goodreads, but don’t really pay attention to the month. Perhaps I should …

How did your exams go, then? One thing I did do this past month was to set up my own shiny new blog, so come check it out!

    1. Katy, all those books I couldn’t finish this month was because I was reading all of them simultaneously. So, I read a little each day from many books at the same time. I will be finishing all the books in March that I started but couldn’t finish in February.

I have started counting my monthly reads from this year itself.

Ah, exams didn’t go too well and no, my reading non-textbooks had nothing to do with it (before I get accused of not studying enough ;)). LOL!

I am coming to check out your blog!
