Chapters 1-8

1. If you were disfigured like Heven(by some sort of accident) do you think you would have reacted the same way as her? (loss of self confidence, hiding yourself, etc)

I think yes. I’m not a very social person otherwise and I would have gone into a shell had that happened.

2. Do you think that Kimber’s plan for revenge against Cole (for kissing another girl) is a good idea?

No, I don’t think that’s a good idea. One thing will lead to another and they will keep finding ways to take revenge against each other. They should sit down and get over it.

3. In the beginning chapters, Heven is very drawn to Sam but won’t admit it due to her own insecurities. Kimber begins to “date” Sam… do you think that Heven should have spoken up? Do you think Kimber should have seen Heven’s real feelings?

I would want Heven to speak for herself but looking at the dump she is in, I understand why she didn’t. Kimber should have seen her feelings but I think she was obsessed with taking revenge against Cole and the good looks of Sam to pay any attention to Heven’s feelings.

4. Masquerade is broken in four separate POV’s: Heven, Sam, The Hate and The Hope. Do you think having multiple POV’s adds depth to the story? Why or why not?

I like multiple POV’s but too many of them distract me. It is good to see and hear things from different perspectives.

5. A great source of strength for Heven is her grandmother. Who do you think yours is/would be?

My source of strength is my mother. She understands me and has always been supportive of me and my decisions.

  3. I think part of Kimber not seeing that Heven liked Sam was because Heven was even denying those feeling to herself. I think she got good at hiding a lot. But Kimber did have a goal that she was set on, so that probably clouded her friend-meter. lol

  6. You moved your blog. Hope it wasn’t a big pain in the rear.I am so glad you are doing the read along. I think most of us are in agreement, as much as I would like to say having scars wouldn’t bother me, I know better. The world can be cruel. I am glad you have such a close relationship with your mother.

  7. Yes, I’m definitely evil. I say go for the payback. Not that it would work well in any of my current day situations, but sometimes I just want someone to feel what I feel. Which in all reality is evil. 🙂

    And, it’s so awesome that your mom and you get along so well!

    1. Ha ha! I know sometimes I too feel ‘tit for the tat’ and probably if I had been in that situation, I would have thought differently. But from an outsider’s perspective, it seems all wrong.

  8. I kind-of question whether Kimber would have taken Heven’s feelings into account even if Heven had said something. I think you’re right that Kimber was wrapped up in getting revenge on Cole, and as Heven wouldn’t have been actually doing something about her feelings for Sam, I think Kimber would probably have talked her around anyway.
