Bout of Books 5.0 Goals/ Updates

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 13th and runs through Sunday, August 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 5.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 5.0 team

I loved the BoB last time. I participated in all the challenges, read a lot and had lots of fun. This time I may not be as great a participant but nonetheless.

My goals

  • Finish reading as many books as I can
  • Chatting on Twitter
  • Complete few challenges
  • Visit fellow bloggers, comment on blog posts and make new friends.

Books on my reading list

Since I need to finish up quite a few of those review books, here we go.

8/13: Finished reading Without Tess

8/14: Started reading Unaccustomed Earth

8/15: Still reading Unaccustomed Earth

8/16: Finished reading Unaccustomed Earth

8/17: Started reading The Taj Conspiracy by Manreet Sodhi Someshwar

8/18: Started reading Hereafter by Tara Fuller

8/19: Vacationing, no reading done.

Virtual Travels or Reading Around the World Mini Challenge!

The Challenge:

Choose a book and find a picture to match the setting you envision for the novel.

For On the Island  by Tracey Garvis-Graves, I choose

Often seen with a nose buried in a book, you might spy me at a library while 500 unread books adorn my shelf. At other times, I'm busy travelling solo, eating out or looking for my new escapades. You will always find me doing too much all at once.

  1. Ooh, can’t wait to hear your respohse to Unaccustomed Earth. It is on my TBR pile, and I went to high school with Jhumpa. I liked Interpreter of Maladies better than the Namesake, so I’m curious how I’ll like this one when I find my way to it.

I think I will try the bout of books, but I may be a little lame in it. I have a ton of clients this week and also will be driving to Providence and running (ok, probably walking…) a half marathon (and staying with people, so have to actually interact with them…) in this week.

    1. Wow, you went to high school with Jhumpa! Awesome! I did like The Namesake, haven’t read The Interpreter of Maladies yet.

Gosh Beth, you are booked, but then you always are, what with your lists and all. And I keep giving you more choices like Orange January/ July and BoB. Good luck with the marathon! 😀

Your comments make my day. I read them all. :) Note: This blog is an Award-Free Zone.
