Goodreads Summary: Unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town’s charity event, Taycee Emerson wants out. Especially when she discovers her old teenage crush, Luke Carney, is one of the bachelors and it’s up to the viewers–not her–to decide which bachelors stay or go.
Coerced into participating, Taycee does what any self-preserving girl would do. She launches a subtle attack on Luke’s good name with the hope of getting him voted off the show. Unfortunately, Luke’s an eye-for-an-eye kind of guy, and when he discovers what she’s up to, it means revenge.
But when their pranks go south, will they screw up any chance they have at a future together, or will they be able to forgive and forget and prove that love really does conquer all?
My View: This book made for a quick read. I read it in two days. It’s a cute, clean romance book that leads us into the life of Taycee. She is a florist, I love how the author went into the details of her profession making it realistic.
The plot is fresh and innovative, the characters very well woven. However since there are many characters, it’s likely that you will be thinking ‘how was this guy like?’
Apart from romance, there is humor and ample amount of human emotions ranging from anger to embarrassment. You tend to feel for Taycee and what she is going through.
Having said all that, at a few places in the book, I did feel that the situation was a bit unrealistic or could have been shown in a different light.
In all, the book made for a fast-paced reading that leaves you feeling good after.
