Bout of Books 12: Goals & Updates

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 5th and runs through Sunday, January 11th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. Books read: 15 pages of The Road, half hour audio of Queen of Someday and 25 pages of She.

Pages read: A dismal 40 pages and half hour listening.

Summary: Got busy visiting blogs, commenting and tweeting and reading took a backseat. Gah!

Summary: Been feeling a bit under the weather and not feeling great mood-wise as well, managed just a little reading despite taking an off from work. 😦

Do you believe in signs? Do you realise the impending doom? Are you making arrangements to flee? What if your Dad can read the signs, your sister can’t speak and you aren’t allowed to make friends? What would you do?

Summary: Not a very productive reading day again. Work got in the way, you know.

 Summary: After a hard day’s work, and house cleaning, I leaned back, watched The Great Gatsby, wrote the movie review and then went on to write a poem. By the time, I got to reading, my eyes closed and I went into dreamland. *sigh*

Challenge: Dysfunctional Book Family 

As my sister, I want Alaska from Looking for Alaska by John Green: She is so full of life, vivacious and charming. Who wouldn’t want her for a sister? Life will be never boring with her in it.

Mother: Rosie from The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. She knows the correct balance between fun and seriousness and how to interact and when and what to say. If she can make Don realise what love is, she can do anything. I want a mom like her.

Father: Polarity’s father in Polarity in Motion by Brenda Vicars. If he can handle a borderline personality disorder wife and a huge scandal relating his daughter, he can balance anything. He is very proactive, knowledgeable and knows how to get things done.

The family is dysfunctional because Alaska and Rosie might not get along. They both have strong personalities and the poor father would be trying to balance between both of them. And of course, I am not easy either. 😉

Summary: Although I didn’t do as well on the reading front, I participated in all challenges except one (which is a first for me), I visited and commented on blogs every day, participated in two twitter chats, tweeted every day and followed lots of new blogs to me. I would say I have had a very successful Bout of Books!
