1. Find an author with the same initials as you (P.S.)
2. Find a book with the color yellow on it
3. Find an author’s name with the letter “S” in it
4. Find a book with a female protagonist
5. Find the longest book you own
6. Find a book with a map in it or on it
7. Find a book with a face on it (photograph or illustrated)
Summary: Got busy visiting blogs, commenting and tweeting and reading took a backseat. Gah!
Day 2 : 6 January 2015

Challenge: Top 10 Recommendations
- Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
- An Unknown Woman by Alice Koller
- Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
- The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
- Looking for Alaska by John Green
- Still Alice by Lisa Genova
- Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
- The Milk of Birds by Sylvia Whitman
- Invisible by Cecily Paterson
- The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
Summary: With a friend being ill, other’s Dad being ill and another meeting with an accident, I had a frantic and worrying day. Reading was nowhere on my mind.
Day 3 : 7 January 2015
Books read: She, Polarity in Motion
Pages read:95
Total Books read: 0
Challenge: Character Coupling Challenge
I would like to pair Nawra from
and Bethia from together as friends. Both of them are compassionate and always up for learning and would make for great best friends, and can teach one another a thing or two.
Summary: Been feeling a bit under the weather and not feeling great mood-wise as well, managed just a little reading despite taking an off from work. 😦
Day 4 : 8 January 2015
Books read: Polarity in Motion, Queen of Someday
Pages read: 21 pages, 1.5 hours listening
Total Books read: 0
Challenge: Create your own synopsis. In 3-5 sentences.
Synopsis of Watch The Sky by Kirsten Hubbard
Do you believe in signs? Do you realise the impending doom? Are you making arrangements to flee? What if your Dad can read the signs, your sister can’t speak and you aren’t allowed to make friends? What would you do?
Summary: Not a very productive reading day again. Work got in the way, you know.
Day 5 : 9 January 2015
Books read: Polarity in motion
Pages read: 68
Total Books read: 0
Challenge: Describe your book in pictures: Queen of Someday
Summary: After a hard day’s work, and house cleaning, I leaned back, watched The Great Gatsby, wrote the movie review and then went on to write a poem. By the time, I got to reading, my eyes closed and I went into dreamland. *sigh*
Day 6 : 10 January 2015
Books read: Polarity in motion, The Improbably Theory of Ana and Zak
Pages read: 112 + 201 = 313 pages
Total Books read: 1
Mine is from Polarity in Motion by Brenda Vicars
Summary: I did finish one book today, was aiming for more but oh, well. I am 80% through another. 😀
Day 7 : 11 January 2015
Books read: Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher
Pages read: 140 pages
Total Books read: 1
(Beware! I am no good at this)
The Improbable Theory of Ana and Zak: Crazies with difficult past thrown together
All The Bright Places: Meaning of life different for all
Polarity in motion: Naked picture ruins creates a nuisance
Challenge: Dysfunctional Book Family
As my sister, I want Alaska from Looking for Alaska by John Green: She is so full of life, vivacious and charming. Who wouldn’t want her for a sister? Life will be never boring with her in it.
Mother: Rosie from The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. She knows the correct balance between fun and seriousness and how to interact and when and what to say. If she can make Don realise what love is, she can do anything. I want a mom like her.
Father: Polarity’s father in Polarity in Motion by Brenda Vicars. If he can handle a borderline personality disorder wife and a huge scandal relating his daughter, he can balance anything. He is very proactive, knowledgeable and knows how to get things done.
The family is dysfunctional because Alaska and Rosie might not get along. They both have strong personalities and the poor father would be trying to balance between both of them. And of course, I am not easy either. 😉
Wrap-up
In various stages of being read –
Pages read: 802 + 2 hours of listening
Summary: Although I didn’t do as well on the reading front, I participated in all challenges except one (which is a first for me), I visited and commented on blogs every day, participated in two twitter chats, tweeted every day and followed lots of new blogs to me. I would say I have had a very successful Bout of Books!
A few Bouts of Books ago I did all of the challenges, and it was really fun. This time I was focusing more on reading so I didn’t have as much time for the extras. Sounds like you had a great week!
